Collecting the data needed to protect America’s coastal urban infrastructure

Coastal communities depend on reliable information pertaining to the conditions beneath the surface to support informed planning, resilient infrastructure, and sustainable water resource management.

This project is establishing a network of coastal subsurface monitoring systems to collect high-quality data on groundwater and subsurface conditions. The information generated will improve our understanding of coastal environments and provide decision-makers, engineers, researchers, and community leaders with the data needed to support long-term infrastructure planning and resource management.
